BPS Releases 2025 Hajj Pilgrims Satisfaction Survey in Collaboration with Ministry of Religious Affairs
September 26, 2025 | Other Activities
Jakarta, 10 September 2025 — Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has released the results of the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Satisfaction Survey (SKJHI) during an event held jointly with the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jakarta on Tuesday.
“The Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) for 2025 reached 88.46 percent, an increase of 0.26 points from the previous year. This indicates that Indonesian pilgrims received hajj services at a ‘very satisfactory’ level,” said Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Chief Statistician of BPS.
Amalia explained that the survey covered 14,400 respondents representing the entire Indonesian hajj population in 2025. Data was collected across seven observation points, ranging from embarkation airports to Mina, and evaluated various service categories including hajj officers, worship guidance, bus transport, accommodation, catering, and other supporting services.
The survey aims not only to measure pilgrims’ satisfaction with government-provided services but also to gather feedback on areas needing improvement, serving as an evidence base for enhancing hajj operations in the years ahead.
Breaking down the index by service type, Amalia noted that 10 service categories were assessed, with all except catering in Armuzna, tent accommodation, and Armuzna bus transport achieving the “very satisfactory” rating. The highest score was recorded for prayer bus services at 92.15. By work area, the highest satisfaction level and year-on-year increase were found at airports, with an index score of 91.48, up 0.92 points.
Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar expressed appreciation for the survey conducted by BPS, thanking Amalia and her team for their efforts in carrying out, compiling, and publishing the SKJHI. “With this survey, we hope future hajj operations will continue to deliver the best possible service to Indonesian pilgrims,” he said.
