Statistics Indonesia and RRI Join Forces to Promote Data Literacy
June 30, 2025 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the national public radio broadcaster, RRI, have officially partnered to improve public understanding and use of data through educational programming. The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the BPS headquarters in Jakarta on June 26.
Under the agreement, both institutions will work together to provide, develop, and promote access to statistical data and information. They will also support joint activities and broadcasts aimed at enhancing public awareness of statistics.
“Through this partnership, we aim to build a sustainable collaboration—not only in sharing information, but also in strengthening human resource capacity, developing information systems, and improving statistical literacy in the community,” said Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia.
RRI views the partnership as an opportunity to further its role as a key communicator of national development. By broadcasting data from BPS, the radio network hopes to help listeners become more informed and make better use of statistics—especially those involved in policymaking.
“With strong synergy and productive collaboration, I believe we can support each other as strategic partners in promoting public data literacy,” said RRI President Director Hendrasmo.
