Statistics Indonesia Promotes 2026 Economic Census at Jakarta Fair

July 15, 2025 | Other Activities

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) took advantage of the lively atmosphere at the 2025 Jakarta Fair (Pekan Raya Jakarta/PRJ) to raise awareness about the upcoming 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). On Thursday (July 10), BPS hosted a range of activities at the main stage in Hall C1 of JIEXPO Kemayoran, engaging visitors through a themed talk show titled “Accurate Data, Strong Economy”, a flash mob, and fun games with prizes.

The outreach aimed to introduce the Economic Census to the broader public, particularly business owners who will be key respondents in the 2026 enumeration. “We’re continuing our efforts to promote the Economic Census, especially today among more than 4,000 business and organizational tenants participating in the Jakarta Fair,” said Nurul Hasanudin, Head of BPS Jakarta Provincial Office, during his opening remarks.

BPS's presence at the event is part of a broader effort to increase awareness among entrepreneurs about the importance of accurate business data for sustainable economic growth. “The Economic Census is a nationwide data collection effort mandated by Law No. 16 of 1997,” explained Sarpono, BPS Director of Distribution Statistics. He added that the census will cover all types and sizes of businesses—from micro and small enterprises to medium and large ones—except those in the agriculture sector, which are already included in the Agricultural Census.

In addition to the talk show, BPS distributed informative leaflets and personalized message cards from the Chief Statistician to business owners at the fair, encouraging their participation in the upcoming census. The event atmosphere became even more festive with an interactive SE2026 quiz that drew enthusiastic participation from visitors.

With such strong public engagement, BPS hopes the public will gain a better understanding of the Economic Census and its importance for shaping Indonesia’s future economy. The tagline of the Economic Census 2026 is “Recording Indonesia’s Economy”.
