BPS Presents National Democracy Portrait at Launch of the IDI National Evaluation 2025
June 30, 2026 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democracy through the formulation of the 2025 Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI). The Vice Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, stated that the IDI was compiled through cross-sector collaboration and published ahead of schedule to better support national and regional development evaluations. This milestone was highly commended by the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus.
The assessment results revealed that the 2025 IDI score stands at 78.19, placing the quality of Indonesia's democracy in the "medium" category. Advancements in education, healthcare, and public welfare remain critical factors in elevating democratic quality as the nation progresses toward the Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045 vision.
During the event, Sonny also personally delivered an award to the Governor of West Kalimantan, recognizing the province as one of the top five national performers in the latest IDI rankings.
