Launch of Ground Check for the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN)
March 3, 2025 | BPS Activities
Jakarta – Following the official handover of the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK), the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), and the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) on February 20, 2025, a Ground Check Launch was held today (26/2) at the National Statistics Command Centre, BPS. The event, conducted in a hybrid format, was organized by Kemensos in collaboration with BPS.
The launch was attended by Chief Statistician of BPS, representatives from provincial, district, and municipal Social Affairs Offices, and facilitators of the Family Hope Program (PKH) from across Indonesia. The session was formally opened by Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Chief Statistician of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, alongside senior officials from both institutions. As part of the initiative, BPS instructors from national, provincial, and local levels conducted training sessions for 33,603 PKH facilitators through 1,120 online classes to ensure effective ground-check implementation.
Under Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 4 of 2025, BPS is tasked with managing DTSEN, including data maintenance, updates, and security. “DTSEN is a product of strong inter-agency collaboration, which must be sustained and expanded. The Inpres mandates not only the creation of DTSEN but also its ongoing management and refinement,” Amalia stated.
The Ministry of Social Affairs is responsible for verifying and updating DTSEN through on-the-ground assessments conducted by PKH facilitators, with BPS providing technical training to support the process.
Minister Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, expressed appreciation for BPS’s efforts in establishing DTSEN. “I extend my deepest appreciation to the Head of BPS and her team for their dedication. DTSEN marks a historic milestone for Indonesia,” he said, emphasizing that the initiative will enhance social welfare programs and ensure the accurate targeting of social assistance.
DTSEN serves as a comprehensive and integrated database of individuals and households, capturing their verified social and economic conditions and aligning them with national demographic records.
