Ensuring Targeted Distribution of BSPS: The Chief Statistician of BPS RI Conducts Field Inspection in Sitaro Regency
April 28, 2026 | Other Activities
The Chief Statistician of BPS RI, along with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the Minister of Home Affairs, the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi, the Regent of Sitaro Islands, and relevant officials, visited prospective recipients (CPB) of the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) program in Bebali Village, East Siau District, Sitaro (April 10). The CPB’s home was located deep within a plantation area, so the delegation had to walk about 200 meters to reach the site. This on-site inspection was conducted to assess the community’s housing conditions and to verify the alignment of statistical data with on-the-ground realities.
Upon arrival at the site, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas outlined the plan to provide housing construction assistance to these potential beneficiaries. Data from the Chief Statistician of BPS RI showed that the potential beneficiaries were in Decile 1, placing them in the group of communities prioritized for assistance. The use of this data serves as a crucial foundation for ensuring that housing assistance programs reach those most in need.
The delegation then continued their journey to the area affected by the recent flood disaster in Bahu Village, East Siau District. On this occasion, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas outlined plans for housing construction assistance for affected residents in a safer location. Data on potential aid recipients will be updated to ensure that disaster-affected communities are assisted in a targeted and effective manner.
Next, the group departed for the Akesimbeka Soccer Field in East Siau District, which was being used as a helipad, to return to Manado by helicopter. Before departure, the Chief Statistician of BPS RI, together with the Head of the BPS of Sitaro Islands Regency, expressed their commitment to supporting the program to build 1,000 homes for communities living in substandard housing. This support is realized through the provision of accurate and up-to-date statistical data as the basis for program implementation, ensuring that assistance is distributed effectively and reaches the intended recipients.
