April 28, 2026 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is strengthening its strategic partnership with the West Sulawesi Provincial Government as a concrete step toward optimizing the use of statistical data for regional development. This collaboration is expected to support all stages of development from planning and implementation to evaluation, in a more measurable and effective manner.
The Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, reaffirmed BPS’s commitment to providing high-quality data that meets international standards. She explained that the data collection and processing are conducted using a uniform methodology across Indonesia, enabling accurate and reliable comparisons of data across regions.
Amalia also highlighted the importance of optimally utilizing statistical data to foster evidence-based policy-making, ensuring that every decision made is grounded in a strong and measurable foundation.
Meanwhile, the Governor of West Sulawesi, Suhardi Duka, welcomed this strengthened collaboration. He emphasized that statistical data plays a very important role in the government’s decision-making process. In his view, without the support of valid and accurate data, the resulting policies risk being off-target and ineffective.
