September 26, 2025 | Other Activities
The strategic synergy between Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the National Defense Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) was established as a form of commitment by both institutions to the implementation of statistics and national defense. This synergy was realized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BPS and Lemhannas RI by Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and the Governor of Lemhannas RI, Ace Hasan Syadzily, at the BPS RI Office in Jakarta (9/9).
In regard to this cooperation, Ace emphasized the importance of providing strategic data needed to formulate national policies, including geospatial and regional data to understand geographical conditions and population distribution, demographic and social data to analyze community dynamics, and economic data to measure resilience and disparities between regions.
Through this collaboration, Statistics Indonesia provides valid, up-to-date, and scientifically-based statistical data through several census and national survey, including the 2026 Economic Census. Data from BPS will serve as the main platform during this collaboration, while Lemhannas' internal data will function as a complementary system. Lemhannas RI will utilize this data as a fundamental material for formulating policy directions, deepening studies on national resilience, and strengthening ideological, social, and national aspects.
The signing of this MoU affirms that the availability of accurate data is key to addressing development challenges during and maintaining national stability. Through this synergy, BPS and Lemhannas RI hope to make a tangible contribution to the realization of data and policy synergy for a more resilient Indonesia.
