BPS and Riau Provincial Government Sign Memorandum of Understanding on “One Data Riau” Program

The Riau Provincial Government has formalized its partnership with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the One Data Riau program. The ceremony, held on August 7 at Balai Serindit in the Governor’s Office, was attended by Riau Governor H. Abdul Wahid, BPS Chief Statisticain Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and senior officials from both sides.

This collaboration aims to enhance the management of accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data in line with the One Data Indonesia principles. One Data Riau is envisioned as a foundation for data-driven regional planning, implementation, and evaluation, aligned with this year’s 68th Riau anniversary theme: “Preserving Heritage, Upholding Dignity.”

Governor Abdul Wahid emphasized that reliable data is essential for effective public policymaking. He noted that the initiative will help reduce inconsistencies between agencies, enabling more effective and accountable development planning.

BPS Chief Statistician Amalia highlighted the agreement as a strategic step to accelerate digital transformation in regional data governance, reaffirming BPS’s commitment to providing reliable statistics from planning through to publication.

The signing represents a key milestone toward integrated data governance in Riau. It is expected to strengthen transparency, improve public service quality, and speed up progress toward regional development goals.

During her visit, the BPS Chief Statisticin also delivered a keynote speech at the Riau Economic Forum organized by Bank Indonesia’s Riau Office, initiated collaboration on the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) with the Regent of Siak, and met with BPS Riau Province staff.
