BPS, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Housing Sign MoU to Support Public Housing Programs

June 30, 2025 | Other Activities

Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), and the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (Kementerian PKP) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the use of data to support the implementation of public housing programs. The agreement, signed on June 24 at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta, marks a strategic step toward strengthening interagency collaboration to provide adequate housing for all.

Under the agreement, the three institutions will work together to develop an integrated monitoring system to regularly and comprehensively track the progress of public housing initiatives. This system will serve as a key reference for BPS in evaluating the success of the program—not only in terms of construction progress but also in its impact on community welfare.

The Minister of Housing and Settlements highlighted that this cooperation follows a model similar to the weekly inflation monitoring program led by the Ministry of Home Affairs and actively tracked by BPS. “We want to apply a similar data-driven approach in the housing sector. With consistent data monitoring, the 3 million-houses program can be implemented in a more targeted, measurable, and transparent way,” the Minister stated.

This collaboration is also a crucial part of the government’s national development agenda under the Asta Cita framework, particularly in achieving the target of building 3 million houses for the people. With reliable data and a robust evaluation system, the program is expected to significantly contribute to meeting housing needs fairly and equitably.

The signing of this MoU reflects a shared commitment to data-driven, transparent, and collaborative policymaking in support of the welfare of all Indonesians.
