BPS Supports Housing Finance Program to Empowering People's Economy

The Vice Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, attended a collaborative event on Housing Financing and Economic Empowerment of People in Sumedang (13/2). The event, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), was attended by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, as a form of government support in expanding access to housing financing through the FLPP Subsidy Mortgage and Housing Program Credit schemes. This event also invited 300 PNM MSME players.

During the event, the Vice Chief Statistician of BPS RI explained that there are still 14.8 percent of households in West Java Province that do not own a house. Specifically, in Sumedang, there are 8.6 percent of households that do not own a house. Meanwhile, 23.21 percent of houses owned by residents of Sumedang Regency are uninhabitable.

BPS emphasized its role as a provider of statistical data, including housing statistics for policy formulation, evaluation of national housing programs, and strengthening the community's economy.
