Signing of MoU with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, BSI, and BP Tapera, Statistics Indonesia Emphasizes the Importance of Data's Role
July 4, 2025 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) continues to strengthen its role in supporting data-driven policymaking, including in the housing sector. Through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), BP Tapera, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), BPS reaffirmed its commitment to providing accurate data to support the targeted distribution of the FLPP Government Subsidized Mortgage Program (KPR). The event took place at the Jakarta International Convention Center (29/6).
Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, stated that the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) compiled by BPS has become the key foundation for distributing various social assistance programs, including housing subsidies. Through this collaboration, BPS ensures that those who are truly in need gain access to decent housing. “BPS is pleased to continue contributing to strategic national programs such as this. We provide the DTSEN data, which can be utilized by various institutions, including the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas and BP Tapera, to ensure the FLPP program reaches the right beneficiaries,” Amalia stated.
At the same event, a symbolic handover of house keys was conducted for 32 recipients of BSI KPR Sejahtera program, as part of the joint commitment to support housing provision for low-income communities (MBR).
Minister of Housing (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, stated that the subsidized mortgage program (KPR FLPP) is a flagship government initiative aimed at achieving the target of building 3 million houses per year, mandated by President Prabowo Subianto. Minister Ara also expressed his appreciation for the contributions of BPS, BSI, and BP Tapera in accelerating the achievement of this target. “Each subsidized house generates at least five direct employment opportunities. If we are able to build 350,000 houses, it means 1.65 million people can gain employment, not to mention the additional economic impacts,” he explained.
BP Tapera Commissioner, Heru Pudyo Nugroho, also emphasized the quota for the FLPP Sejahtera Mortgage Program has increased significantly. As of the end of June 2025, more than 117,000 housing units have been distributed out of a total target of 350,000 units.
Meanwhile, President Director of BSI, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, expressed BSI’s commitment to supporting the distribution of subsidized mortgages (KPR) to low-income communities (MBR). The increase in the number of beneficiaries from the initial target of 20 to 32 individuals reflects BSI’s strong commitment to expanding access to housing financing.
Through this strategic collaboration, BPS emphasizes that statistical data is not merely a measurement tool, but also a critical foundation for designing and implementing inclusive and sustainable development policies. This cross-institutional collaboration is expected to accelerate the realization of decent housing for all Indonesian citizens.
