In a monumental step towards enhancing teachers’ well-being, Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, together with senior officials, took part in the prestigious "Housing Program for Indonesian Teachers" event in Bogor Regency on March 25. This historic occasion marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BPS, the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP), and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Dikdasmen), focusing on housing development and the provision of comprehensive housing statistics for teachers. Witnessed by Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya, the event also celebrated the symbolic handover of home keys to educators, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to those shaping Indonesia’s future.

"Teachers are the nation’s unsung heroes, and it is a great honor to be part of this noble and transformative initiative," Amalia declared. She underscored that this collaboration exemplifies the outstanding synergy between ministries and institutions, harnessing the power of statistical data to drive impactful policies. Through this partnership, BPS meticulously processes administrative data from the Ministry of Education and seamlessly integrates it with the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN), ensuring housing policies are precisely targeted to uplift educators.

Minister of Housing, Maruarar Sirait, hailed BPS’s dedication to data-driven governance, stating, "A new era of precision policymaking has arrived, and BPS stands at the forefront with its remarkable professionalism." He emphasized that, with BPS’s expertise, subsidized housing programs will reach the right beneficiaries, guaranteeing that homes are provided to those who need them the most—particularly low-income educators dedicated to nurturing the nation’s future.

Echoing this sentiment, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, expressed unwavering support for teachers’ well-being. "Empowering teachers through improved welfare and access to quality housing is fundamental in strengthening their role as educators, nation-builders, and architects of civilization," he asserted. He affirmed that this initiative is a groundbreaking step in recognizing educators as the driving force behind national progress.

The event culminated in the grand symbolic handover of house keys to teachers, followed by an exclusive inspection of the newly built subsidized housing units—marking the beginning of a brighter future for Indonesia’s dedicated educators.
