National Statistics Day 2024 Awards: Celebrating Key Contributors to Indonesia's Statistical Landscape

Jakarta, September 26, 2024 — On National Statistics Day, BPS-Statistics Indonesia recognized key contributors to the nation’s statistical progress with the distinguished National Statistics Day 2024 Awards, celebrating stakeholders who have played a crucial role in strengthening Indonesia’s statistical landscape.
A highlight of the ceremony was the BPS Awards, which are presented annually to acknowledge outstanding support and collaboration. This year, the Ministry of Finance was honored in the Ministry/Agency category, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Stated-Owned Electricity Company) in the Corporate category, and IDX Channel in the Media category.
In addition to the BPS Awards, a range of other accolades were presented. The Sectoral Statistics Evaluation Awards (EPSS) recognized ministries, agencies, regional, and local governments actively producing high-quality sectoral statistics. Universities were honored with ‘Statistics Corner’ Awards, while village and local administrations received ‘Village Fond of Statistik’ Awards for exemplary contributions to grassroots statistical initiatives. The ‘Outstanding Statistician’ award was given to top-performing BPS staff across Indonesia, and additional awards recognized winners of HSN activities, such as the Statistic Data Camp and Indathon competitions.
Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian joined the event, presenting several awards and underscoring the essential role of data and statistics in shaping well-informed policy decisions.
To mark the celebration, BPS-Statistics Indonesia also launched the BPS Corporate University, alongside the official Logo and Theme Song for the upcoming 2026 Economic Census.
