BPS-Ministry of Trade Alliance Strengthens in Providing Reliable Price Data
November 28, 2025 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) have been working together to compile the Price Development Index (IPH) since October 2022. Now in its fourth year, the IPH is an instrument used to monitor weekly changes in the prices of basic commodities throughout Indonesia, which also serves as the main reference in the weekly Inflation Control Coordination Meeting. This is an effort by the government to maintain price stability in order to keep inflation under control and have a positive impact on society.
As part of this synergy, the Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, attended the National Coordination Meeting on Monitoring Basic Necessities held by the Ministry of Trade. This event was attended by contributors to the Market and Basic Necessities Monitoring System (SP2KP) from all over Indonesia in Bandung (20/11).
The Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between BPS and the Ministry of Trade in strengthening data monitoring of basic commodity prices. This collaboration is key to the availability of accurate, high-quality, and timely statistical information to support strategic government policy-making.
