BPS Strengthens Collaboration to Enhance Statistical Data Quality
June 12, 2025 | Other Activities
In its ongoing effort to improve the quality and impact of official statistics, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is expanding collaboration with key regional partners. These efforts are aimed at ensuring that statistical data remains a strong foundation for evidence-based policymaking and regional development.
On Thursday (June 5), BPS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Batam Indonesia Free Zone Authority (BP Batam) to work together on the provision, use, and development of statistical data and information related to the Batam Free Trade and Free Port Zone.
On the same day, BPS also formalized a partnership with the Batam City Government through a Memorandum of Agreement focusing on the use of data and statistics to support local development planning.
These dual agreements reflect a shared commitment to strengthening data governance and promoting collaboration between institutions. Through this partnership, BPS, BP Batam, and the Batam City Government aim to produce high-quality, relevant data that can better inform investment planning, development monitoring, and evaluation processes in the region.
This milestone marks a positive step toward building a more data-driven future for Batam.
