The Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, in the Economics 360° Roundtable Discussions forum emphasized that data plays a central role in the formulation of West Java (Jabar) development policies. Amalia said that accurate data is the foundation for mapping sources of growth and formulating measurable and precise development strategies for West Java. Various strategic indicators produced by BPS, ranging from gross regional domestic product (GRDP) by business field, industrial production index, price index, to labour statistics, can be used to read the overall economic conditions of the region.

Amalia also emphasized the importance of consistency and quality of administrative data at the regional level. “Strengthening collaboration between BPS, local governments, and the business world is necessary to ensure the availability of complete, up-to-date, and relevant data. With a strong database, development planning will be more focused and the chances of achieving West Java's GRDP target can be calculated more precisely,” Amalia said.

The Economics 360° Roundtable Discussions held at Gedung Sate, Bandung (19/11) was a strategic forum to strengthen the direction of West Java's economic development. This event was held to support the West Java Provincial GRDP target, which is expected to reach Rp4,000 trillion in the next five years. The forum featured a number of speakers, including Burhanuddin Abdullah (Chairman of the BA Center Advisory Board), Ahmad Ridha Sabana (Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for MSMEs, Creative Economy and Digital Economy), Eydu Oktain Panjaitan (Head of the West Java Representative Office of the Supreme Audit Agency), and Rully Nuryanto (Expert Staff to the Minister for Macroeconomics at the Ministry of Cooperatives), who shared their views on strengthening the regional economy.

West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi emphasized that economic acceleration can only be achieved through policy integration between the central government, regional governments, and business actors. With this cross-sector discussion, the ideas of various stakeholders can be summarized and followed up to build a more resilient, collaborative, and data-driven economic ecosystem in West Java towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
