October 27, 2025 | Other Activities

Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, was one of the speakers in the session “National Economic and Logistics Outlook” at the 4th Seminar on Indonesian Economic Outlook 2026 (IEO) organized by Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) in Jakarta, on October, 7.

On this occasion, Amalia delivered a presentation on the Recent Development in Indonesia’s National and Regional Economy, covering topics such as economic growth, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exports and imports, as well as other contributing factors shaping the country’s economic conditions. She emphasized that interpreting statistical figures needs a multidimensional perspective and a deep understanding among indicators to obtain a comprehensive and accurate picture of Indonesia’s economic situation.

“To understand the economy, we must rely on comprehensive data and examine the interconnections among factors to truly capture the pulse of Indonesia’s economy,” Amalia stated.

Starting in 2025, BPS is committed to publishing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Provincial and Regencies/Municipalities data on a quarterly basis, an improvement from the previous annual release to assist policymakers in examining regional economic performance more effectively.

In her closing remarks, Amalia highlighted the regions with the highest economic growth in Indonesia which are North Maluku, Central Sulawesi, and Riau Islands. Noting that most of these regions have a proper economic structure supported by the manufacturing sector.

BPS reaffirms its commitment to continuously provide accurate and reliable data as a foundation for strategic decision-making across various economic sectors. A data-driven understanding of the economy is expected to offer a clearer basis for policy formulation which supports sustainable economic development.
