Strengthening Bonds: Chief Statistician and Vice Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia Reconnect with Staff

For the first time, the Chief Statistician and Vice Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) had the opportunity to meet directly with the entire headquarter staff during the Q1/2025 Coordination and Performance Evaluation Meeting, held on April 16 at the STIS Polytechnic Auditorium. This leadership gathering was also attended virtually by all BPS regional offices across Indonesia.

Still within the post-Eid atmosphere, the event served as both a moment of halalbihalal and a renewal of professional camaraderie. The BPS leadership used the occasion not only to reconnect but also to deliver policy directives aimed at producing meaningful and impactful statistics to support Indonesia Emas 2045.

The event opened with a sermon delivered by Haikal Hassan, Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), who shared a poignant message: “Forgive those who have wronged you, and pray for them.”

Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Chief Statistician of BPS, emphasized that this event served as a special moment to strengthen internal ties within the organization. She took the opportunity to highlight five core work values that she hopes every BPS employee will uphold: leadership at all levels, relentless innovation in every area, effective communication, coordination, and diplomacy, a commitment to data quality, and a balance of hard work combined with smart work. These values are essential for fostering a culture of excellence and achieving BPS's mission in supporting Indonesia's development.

To close the event, both the Chief Statistician and Vice Chief Statistician of BPS were formally inducted as honorary members of the BPS’ Polytechnics of Statistitics Alumni Association (HAISSTIS).
