September 29, 2025 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), and the provincial as well as district and city governments of Maluku have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on September 16. The agreement was signed by BPS Chief Statistician Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait, and Maluku Governor Hendrik Lewerissa.
The partnership covers the provision and updating of statistical data to support housing programs for low-income households (MBR) and local civil servants (ASN) in Maluku. As part of the initiative, the Ministry of PKP and BP Tapera plan to build 3,000 subsidized housing units in the province, using BPS data to ensure accurate targeting.
Minister Maruarar underscored the role of Statistics Indonesia as the country’s main reference for national data, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives. Amalia reiterated BPS’s commitment to the program, saying the agency stands ready to deliver reliable data so that the housing subsidies reach the intended groups and improve public welfare, especially for low-income families and government employees in Maluku.
The signing marks a joint effort by Statistics Indonesia, the Ministry of PKP, and the Maluku government to strengthen institutional synergy. With updated data from BPS, the subsidized housing program in Maluku is expected to run more effectively and bring concrete benefits to the community.
