Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) signed a Cooperation Agreement on the Provision, Utilization, and Development of Statistical Data and/or Information to Support Stunting Prevention and Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (21/7). Witnessed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno, and the Vice Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, the agreement was signed by the Secretary of Kemenko PMK, Imam Machdi, and the Deputy for Social Statistics of Statistics Indonesia, Ateng Hartono, at Kemenko PMK Office.

“Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is ready to take an active role in providing quality data to support the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia,” Sonny said. He added that BPS will continue to coordinate and collaborate with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) in delivering high-quality statistics on human development and culture.

Through this partnership, both parties hope that stunting-related policymaking can be more targeted and effective. “Collaboration with BPS will strengthen the data foundation needed to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia,” Imam explained.

In his remarks, Pratikno emphasized that the commitment to handling stunting has been included in the 4th pillar of Asta Cita and has been stated in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2024-2045 and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029. “Of course we need collaboration from all parties, particularly BPS in this case, Hopefully, all parties can contribute optimally according to their respective roles,” Pratikno said.
