Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Holds a Workshop on Economic Census, Featuring Speakers from the NBS of China

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) held a Workshop on Economic Census at the BPS RI Office from August 25 to 28, 2025. This event invited speakers from the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) to share their experiences in conducting the Economic Census in their country. The workshop aims to strengthen the BPS capacity during the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), particularly for technical and methodological aspects.

The three-member delegation from NBS China, consisting of Wang Weiyu (Deputy Director-General, Census Center), Du Fangfang (Director, Division of Data Development, Census Center), and Zhang Yifei (Program Officer, General Affairs Division, Census Center) presented their planning strategies, data collection innovations, and use of technology in supporting the 5th economic census conducted in 2023.

The event was interactive and attended by structural officials, including Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics of BPS, Pudji Ismartini; Chief Inspector of BPS, Dadang Hardiwan; and the GARDA team of SE2026. Through this workshop, Statistics Indonesia hopes to strengthen the implementation strategy for the 2026 Economic Census and adopt relevant approaches to improve the quality of Indonesia’s economic data.
