July 4, 2025 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Ministry of Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 30 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The agreement was formalized by Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, and Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti.
The partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing the national data ecosystem, particularly to support human rights policies and programs. It also lays the groundwork for the development of a national Human Rights Index.
In his statement, Minister Pigai said the MoU is aimed at producing reliable, measurable, and publicly accessible data on human rights. He noted that Statistics Indonesia will play a central role as both the coordinator and key provider of human rights statistics.
Amalia added that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building more effective, efficient, and integrated efforts to produce comprehensive human rights data in Indonesia.
