JAKARTA — Acting Principal Secretary of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Moh Edy Mahmud, officially opened the "Civil Servant Induction Program for Fiscal Year 2024" on Monday (June 2) at the 10th floor of BPS Building 1 in Jakarta. The three-day hybrid program is attended by 178 new civil servant candidates (CPNS) assigned to BPS headquarters and 163 stationed across regional offices. This year, BPS attracted 7,851 applicants competing for 341 available positions.

In his opening address, Edy emphasized the importance of organizational culture at BPS, highlighting five core values: "Be a leader, not a boss"; relentless innovation across all levels; the KKD principle (Communication, Coordination, and Diplomacy); a strong commitment to data quality and business processes; and the spirit of working hard and working smart.

Edy also stirred enthusiasm and pride among the newly recruited civil servants, reminding them of the strategic role BPS plays in national development. “Almost all government programs rely on BPS data,” he said. “You are now part of the institution that provides the data backbone for policy planning. Your contribution will directly impact the nation’s progress.”

Throughout the induction, participants will receive introductory materials on the organizational structure and functions of BPS, as well as civil servant duties and responsibilities.
