Human Development Index 2025

During the period 2020–2025, Indonesia’s Human Development Index (HDI) exhibited sustained and positive growth. In 2025, the HDI reached 75.90, representing an increase of 0.83 points compared to 2024, with a higher growth rate than that recorded in the preceding year. This growth was primarily driven by improvements in the standard of living dimension, as reflected in an increase in adjusted real per capita expenditure of 461 thousand rupiah (equivalent to 3.74 percent) relative to 2024. Furthermore, the knowledge and longevity dimensions also demonstrated continued progress. At the regional level, HDI performance has shown notable improvement, as evidenced by the upward reclassification of human development status in several provinces and the increasing number of provinces categorized as having “high” and “very high” levels of human development. Regional disparities in HDI have also shown a declining trend, in line with the accelerated progress observed in previously less-developed regions.
