Migrant Profile Result of Socio-Economics National Survey 2024

Migration, as one of the main pillars of population dynamics, continues to shape Indonesia's demographic landscape. Economic and facility disparities between regions drive a flow of urbanization that brings significant challenges, ranging from infrastructural pressure in large cities to the potential for a "brain drain" in areas of origin. Accurate data on migration is key for the government to design equitable and sustainable development policies.The Migrant Profile from the 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas March 2024) is a publication that aims to provide an overview of the volume, rate, patterns, and flows of migration based on the results of the March 2024 Susenas. This publication also discusses the differences in characteristics between migrant and non-migrant individuals. Some of the individual characteristics discussed include age, gender, marital status, education level, and others. Furthermore, household characteristics are also discussed to identify differences between households with at least one recent migrant member and those without.
