Abstract
This report presents data on the harvested area and production of corn commodities in 2024. The KSA survey recorded that the corn harvested area reached 2.55 million hectares in 2024 with an average of around 212,39 thousand hectares per month. The five provinces with the largest harvested areas were East Java, Central Java, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. Meanwhile, the five provinces with the smallest harvested areas were the Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, Papua Mountains, North Kalimantan, and Southwest Papua. The corn production data presented was estimated by combining the KSA results with data from the 2024 Ubinan Survey and the 2020 Corn Conversion Survey (SKJG2020). Production of dry corn kernels with a moisture content of 28 percent reached 20.48 million tons with a monthly average of around 1.71 million tons in 2024. Meanwhile, production of dry corn kernels with a moisture content of 14 percent reached 15.14 million tons with an average of around 1.26 million tons per month. The five provinces with the largest production centers for dry corn kernels with a moisture content of 14 percent are East Java, Central Java, North Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi. Meanwhile, the five regions with the smallest production are the Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, Papua Mountains, North Kalimantan, and Riau. The Corn KSA also records additional information in the form of other growth phases of corn commodities and also the condition of the land at the sample segment points. Additional information obtained from these observations includes the area of plant stands which includes the area of early vegetative, late vegetative, early reproductive, and late reproductive phases. In addition, estimates are also made to produce the area of green fodder harvest, young harvest, potential crop failure, land preparation, fallow land, and agricultural land planted with other than corn.
