Paddy Harvested Area and Production In Indonesia 2024

Since 2018, Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in collaboration with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN), which have since merged into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), along with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), has been working to improve the methodology for estimating paddy harvestedarea through the adoption of objective measurement. This is made possible by advancements in information and communication technology as well as the availability of high-resolution satellite imagery. This collaboration has taken shape in an initiative called the “Integrated Agricultural Statistics Data Collection for Food Crops Using the Area Sampling Frame (ASF) Method,” commonly known as the ASF Survey. The implementation of the ASF Survey for paddy commodities has been conducted nationwide since 2018. Field observations for the ASF Survey are carried out during the last seven days of each month.
