Demographic Statistics Indonesia (Results of Population Census 2020)

The publication of demographic statistics is an effort to comprehensively review the population dynamics occurring in Indonesia.Relying on data collected by the BPS-Statistics Indonesia through the Population Census (SP) and the Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS), this publication highlights various critical aspects of Indonesia’s population. These aspects range from population trends, including growth rates, urbanization, and internal migration, to population structure, covering age distribution, gender, and education. Additionally, key demographic indicators such as fertility, mortality, and mobility are a primary focus, supported by in-depth analysis and interpretation that enhance understanding of demographic changes in Indonesia.To accommodate the need for data in the planning and development of newly established autonomous regions (Daerah Otonomi Baru/DOB) in Papua and West Papua Provinces, this publication provides population data for each province, along with demographic indicators, including fertility, mortality, and migration based on the Long Form SP2020 results.The current population conditions in Indonesia, along with the trends described and presented engagingly in this publication, can assist various stakeholders in understanding the demographic landscape. This information can be utilized by the government and other relevant parties to support various policy decisions.
