Domestic air transport passengers departing in December 2024 rose by 19.29% from November, while freight transport increased by 9.82% compared to the previous month

Abstract

The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in December 2024 was 5.9 million, an increase of 19.29 percent compared to November 2024. International air transport passengers increased by 9.76 percent to 1.7 million. The freight transported by domestic air transport increased by 9.82 percent to 61.5 thousand tons. From January to December 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 63.7 million, increasing by 1.76 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 19.0 million, which increased by 21.46 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 9.07 percent to 666.4 thousand tons.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in December 2024 was 2.4 million, increasing by 17.40 percent compared to November 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 2.35 percent, turning 34.1 million tons. From January to December 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 25.9 million and increased by 20.46 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight increased by 1.45 percent, reaching 379.2 million tons.
The number of railway passengers departing in December 2024 was 45.8 million people, which increased by 7.61 percent compared to November 2024. Similar to the number of passengers, freight transported by train increased by 4.86 percent to 6.4 million tons. The number of passengers reached 504.6 million from January to December 2024 and increased by 17.81 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 9.42 percent to 73.5 million tons.
