Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In September 2023, national FTT was 114.14 or increased by 2.05 percent compared with that in August 2023. The increase in FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 2.27 percent, which was higher than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.21 percent.
  • In September 2023, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest increase in FTT at 4.17 percent. On the other hand, DKI Jakarta Province had the highest decrease in FTT at 1.40 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in September 2023 increased by 0.27 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in the indexes of transport expenditure group.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 114.98 in September 2023 or increased by 2.16 percent compared with August 2023.
  • There were 1,614 paddy sales transactions recorded in 26 provinces during September 2023. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 59.79 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 29.68 percent, and the other quality 10.53 percent.
  • In September 2023, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp6,514 per kg, or increased by 11.69 percent, and the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp6,682 per kg, or increased by 11.75 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in August 2023. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp7,386 per kg, or increased by 9.26 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp7,498 per kg, or increased by 9.18 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp6,044 per kg, or increased by 5.81 percent. While at the huller level was Rp6,168 per kg, or increased by 5.82 percent.
  • Compared to September 2022, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in September 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 26.70 percent, 27.31 percent, and 22.51 percent, respectively. At the huller level, the average price of paddy in September 2023 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 26.95 percent, 26.74 percent, and 22.52 percent, respectively.
  • In September 2023, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,073 observations from 867 milling businesses.
  • Compared to August 2023, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level in September 2023 was Rp12,900 per kg, or increased by 9.75 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp12,685 per kg, or increased by 10.55 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp11,746 per kg, or increased by 11.59 percent.
  • Compared to the September 2022, the average price of rice at the huller level in September 2023 for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 25.83 percent, 29.64 percent, and 24.09 percent, respectively.
