Abstract

The Indonesia Consumer Price Index (CPI) August 2004, based on 45 cities observations, increases from 113.88 in July to 113.98 in August or inflation rate 0.09 %. Generally, expenditure groups in the Consumer Price Index component are increasing, however only food stuff is decreasing, namely: foodstuff -2.13 %; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco 0.35 %; housing, water, electric, gas and fuel 0.65 %; clothing 0.24 %; health 0.10 %; education, recreation and sport 5.10 % and transport, communication and financial services 0.40 %.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for August 2004 was 113.98 whereas CPI for previous month was 113.88 or inflation rate 0.09%. Generally, expenditure groups have increased in their indices from the previous month, however only food stuff has decreased, namely: foodstuff from 108.48 to 106.17 or 2.13% deflation; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco from 112.97 to 113.36 or 0.35% inflation; housing, water, electric, gas and fuel increased from 121.09 to 121.88 or 0.65% inflation; clothing from 110.04 to 110.30 or 0.24% inflation; Health from 111.58 to 111.69 or 0.10% inflation; education, recreation and sport 116.13 to 122.05 or 5.10% inflation; transport, communication and financial services from 113.12 to 113.57 or 0.40% inflation.
