February 3, 2026 | Other Activities
The Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and the Vice Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, along with their staff, attended a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (28/1). The RDP, which was attended by a number of factions, discussed several matters, including the evaluation of performance in 2025, the BPS work plan for the 2026 fiscal year, preparations for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), and the BPS's involvement in disaster management in Sumatera.
During her opening remarks at the RDP, Vice Chair of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Maria Yohana Esti Wijayati, emphasized the importance of the BPS's role in disaster management in Sumatera. “The official data from BPS is highly important as an objective and reliable basis for all stakeholders, from the government to humanitarian agencies, to design emergency responses, distribute aid appropriately, and formulate long-term post-disaster recovery,” she explained.
Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives also supports the successful implementation of SE2026 by emphasizing several points, including the readiness of human resources and infrastructure, as well as improving coordination and collaboration with other ministries and agencies. In her presentation, Amalia conveyed the importance of SE2026 data as a valuable asset for Indonesia. “If the 2026 Economic Census is successful, ladies and gentlemen, it will certainly be a valuable asset for all of us, because we can obtain a true economic map of Indonesia's economy, and we can see what was previously unrecorded will now be recorded,” she explained.
