In 2025, the calculation of the Decent Living Needs (KHL) was updated using the ILO standard-based method, which has also become a reference in calculating minimum wages in various countries. In addition, routine data produced by BPS is also used in calculating KHL. BPS is present to guide minimum wage policies through the strategic statistical data and indicators it produces, as well as through its participation in calculating KHL together with the National Economic Council (DEN) and the Ministry of Manpower.

Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, on Friday (14/11) participated in a discussion at the Minimum Wage Policy Meeting led by the Chairman of DEN, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Also attending the meeting in person were the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Home Affairs.

In accordance with the ILO framework, KHL consists of four components of household consumption, including food expenditure, health and education expenditure, other basic expenditure, and housing/residential expenditure.

BPS will continue to support and oversee the provision of data for minimum wage policies in order to realize a prosperous Indonesian people.
