Supervision of the 2026 Economic Census Rehearsals (GB SE2026)

August 15, 2025 | BPS Activities

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is currently conducting a series of the 2026 Economic Census Rehearsals (GB SE2026). The GB SE2026 activities are being carried out in 10 selected sample regencies/municipalities, including South Jakarta and North Jakarta. During the implementation, Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, accompanied by Deputy Chief for Distribution and Services Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, along with their team, went into the field to directly observe the data collection on August 13. Among the sample companies for GB SE2026 in South Jakarta are PT Darma Henwa Tbk and PT Bumi Resources Tbk. BPS also collected data from MSME samples, including the Warung Putri Putra convenience store. In addition, PT Kaho Indah Citra Garment was selected as one of the sample companies in North Jakarta.

This rehearsal serves as the final simulation before the actual implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). Through this activity, BPS ensures the readiness of all aspects of the census implementation, including testing the questionnaires prepared for the 2026 Economic Census, trialing the data collection methods for the 2026 Economic Census, and assessing the effectiveness of field operations—both in terms of enumerator workload and field management. The 2026 Economic Census Rehearsals are useful for identifying and addressing potential technical and operational challenges, ensuring the 2026 Economic Census can be carried out smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. In addition, this rehearsal also serves as a platform to strengthen synergy among BPS work units and to ensure that the quality of economic data produced truly reflects the real conditions of business actors in Indonesia.
