In a significant step toward advancing Indonesia’s tourism sector, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) have reinforced their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement. The agreement was formalized by Chief Statistician of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta on March 25.
Accompanied by the Vice Chief Statistician and senior officials of BPS, Amalia reaffirmed BPS’s commitment to supporting Kemenpar by providing essential tourism statistics. “A significant portion of the data produced by BPS serves as key performance indicators for the tourism sector and is continuously monitored,” she stated.
Minister Widiyanti expressed optimism that the collaboration between Kemenpar and BPS would continue to enhance data quality and maximize its utilization to drive sustainable tourism development.
