September 2, 2024 | Other Activities
JAKARTA – BPS-Statistics Indonesia recently hosted a delegation from the Guangxi Zhuang Statistics Bureau, along with representatives from Guangxi University of Finance and Economics, on August 12. The visit comes as part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming 10th China-ASEAN Statistics Forum, with BPS-Statistics Indonesia having been an active participant in the forum since 2015.
The visit is a continuation of the collaboration between BPS-Statistics Indonesia and China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Discussions centered around the exchange of insights on statistical capacity-building and green development statistics. The meeting also explored potential partnerships with the BPS Education and Training Center to bolster the training of high-level statistical experts across the China-ASEAN region.
The delegation was welcomed with a presentation on BPS-Statistics Indonesia by Margaretha Ari Anggorowati, Head of the Public Relations and Legal Bureau of the BPS. The visit also included a tour of the STIS Polytechnic of Statistics (Polstat STIS), where the group engaged in further discussions on statistical education. Additionally, the delegation visited the Secretariat of the Regional Hub on Big Data and Data Science for Asia and the Pacific, situated on the Polstat STIS campus. BPS-Statistics Indonesia, representing Indonesia, has been appointed by the United Nations Statistical Division as the Regional Hub on Big Data and Data Science for Asia and the Pacific.
