Canberra - In a series of BPS delegation visits to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), BPS Head, Kecuk Suhariyanto and his entourage took the opportunity to attend the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Canberra, Monday (11/18).

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Australia and Vanuatu, Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo gave a warm welcome to the presence of BPS envoys in Canberra, "Welcome to our common home, home of all Indonesian people."

BPS and ABS have a long and lasting relationship, which spans more than 20 years. This bond was strengthened in July 2018 with Chief Statistics Australia, David Kalisch, and Head of BPS, Kec. Suhariyanto signed a new ABS-BPS Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta.

BPS and ABS view this relationship as a collaborative partnership to discuss areas of mutual interest that will benefit both institutions in the future.

"We believe the cooperation that has been forged by the past by BPS-ABS is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries," Legowo said.

Many things were discussed at the meeting that took place at the "Indonesian people's home", including the 2020 Population Census (SP2020).

"Certainly," said Legowo when he stated his commitment to help the Indonesia's ten-yearly grand agenda succeed.
