Abstract

Analysis of Current Issues 2025 is a compilation of articles from Statistical Data Stories that draws on innovative data sources and official statistics to provide insights into socio-economic issues within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme of health and nutrition (SDG Goals 2 and 3) is discussed through analyses of nutritional inequality due to smoking, the importance of adequate food consumption for the golden generation, and mental health vulnerability. The theme of gender equality and inclusion (SDG Goals 5 and 10) is explored through the phenomenon of female breadwinners and the dynamics of migrant workers. The theme of quality education (SDG Goal 4) emerges in analyses of school preference, teacher welfare, and education–employment mismatch. Finally, the theme of economic growth, resilience, and innovation (SDG Goals 8, 9, 11, and 13) is examined through economic impacts of disasters, digital transformation, leisure behavior of younger generations, and marketplace use in e-commerce. To complement these analyses, the publication also includes qualitative reviews on female breadwinners, children's food consumption, and mental health vulnerability.
