Abstract

The Publication of Crime Statistics 2024/2025 provides an overview of security trends and their changes over recent years. The data presented serves as a basis for development planning in the security and legal sectors, with the ultimate goal of improving public welfare. The approach used in this publication covers three main aspects: crime incidents (Police administrative records), crime victims (National Socioeconomic Survey data), and regional aspects (Village Potential Data). Based on Police administrative records, the crime total indicator decreased to 561,993 incidents, the crime rate declined to 204 per 100,000 population, and the crime clock lengthened to 56 seconds in 2024. However, National Socioeconomic Survey’s result indicated a different pattern, showing an increase in the percentage of the population who became crime victims in 2024, reaching 0.73 percent. On the other hand, the reporting rate to the police in 2024 remained relatively low at only 20.28 percent. Meanwhile, Village Potential data highlight that theft was the most frequently occurring type of crime in 2024, recorded in 29.92 percent of all villages/subdistricts in Indonesia.
