Abstract

Fishing port is a place where fishing vessels dock, anchor, and/or load and unload fish, equipped with navigational safety facilities and supporting fisheries activities. By 2024, there will be 524 fishing ports spread across all provinces in Indonesia. Aceh Province remains the province with the largest number of fishing ports in Indonesia, accounting for 18.32%.Based on their class, Indonesian fishing ports are divided into 6 classes/categories, namely Class A or PPS fishing ports (7 ports), Class B or PPN fishing ports (18 ports), Class C or PPP fishing ports (43 ports), Class D or PPI fishing ports (127 ports), Classless fishing ports or PP (147 ports), and a combination of fishing ports with the status of Prospective Port (CP), Non-Fishing Port, and Not Yet Categorized (182 ports). Of the 524 fishing ports in Indonesia, 83.59% have Fish Auction Places (TPI), and 16.41% do not. The number of active fishing ports in 2024 was lower than in previous years, due to the inactivity of several ports in several provinces. However, this decrease did not affect fish production this year. Fish production sold through TPI in 2024 increased by 14.19 percent compared to last year, with a catch volume of 1,475,437 tons.
