Abstract

Cerita Data Statistik Untuk Indonesia (Statistical Data Stories for Indonesia) is a booklet containing articles known as CERDAS, which utilizes innovative data sources and official statistics to provide ideas related to socio-economic issues. In this edition, the Directorate of Statistical Analysis and Development presents an article addressing the education. Education plays an important role for individuals and society. Parents' choice between public and private schools is influenced by socio-economic conditions. Although public schools still dominate, interest in private schools continues to grow, especially in urban areas and among the upper-middle class. The government needs to strengthen public schools in rural areas and at the basic education level, while ensuring private schools remain affordable and of high quality. We hope that this booklet can capture the essence of each statistical value, and make these stories inspire us to create better changes for the future of Indonesia, especially in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
