Profile of Ethnic Groups and Regional Language Diversity Results of the 2020 Population Census Long Form

The publication Profile of Ethnic Groups and Local Languages Diversity in Indonesia: Results of the 2020 Long Form Population Census provides information on the socio-demographic profiles of ten ethnic groups in Indonesia and the diversity of local languages used for communication within families and communities, based on the results of the 2020 Long Form Population Census. The socio-demographic profiles of these ten ethnic groups are examined, covering aspects such as population composition by age and sex, population distribution by island, population concentration, total fertility rate, average age at first marriage, life expectancy at birth, lifetime migration, educational attainment and the languages spoken by these ethnic groups within families and communities. This publication also presents information on the use of local languages within families and communities, as well as the diversity of local languages by island across Indonesia.
