Abstract

The Publication of Crime Statistics 2023 provides a macro-overview of the current security condition and its developments over the past few years. The information presented includes three main approaches, namely the perpetrator’s approach (Police Registration Data), the victims’ approach (National Socio-Economic Survey/Susenas), and the regional approach (Village Potential Data/Podes). Based on National Police registration data, there has been an increase in crime total and crime rate, as well as a descrease in crime clock in 2022. Susenas data also shows that the percentage of crime victims has increased in 2022. Meanwhile, the Village Potential Data shows that theft was the most frequent type of crime throughout the 2014-2021 period.
