Abstract


Indonesia's imports in 2019 reached USD171,275.7 million, consisting of oil and gas imports of USD21,885.3 million and nomigas of USD149,390.4 million. Compared to 2018, the value of imports decreased 9.24 percent triggered by the decline in oil and gas imports by 26.73 percent (USD7,983.5 million) and non-oil and gas 5.95 percent (USD9,452.1 million).
The main countries of origin for Indonesia's imports were China USD44,930.6 million (26.23 percent), followed by Singapore with USD17,589.8 million (10.27 percent), and Japan USD15,661.8 million (9.14 percent) . Viewed from the category of economic goods usage, it is still dominated by imports of raw/auxiliary materials at USD126,355.5 million (73.77 percent), followed by capital goods at USD28,466.2 million (16.62 percent) and consumer goods at USD16,454,0 million (9.61 percent).
During January-December 2019, Tanjung Priok Port was still the place to unload main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 42.05 percent or valued at USD72,020.2 million.
