Abstract


In September 2019 the value of imports reached USD14,263.4 million, up 0.66 percent (USD94.0 million) compared to the previous month. Likewise the volume rose 6.52 percent to 13,506.4 thousand tons. The September 2019 import value consisted of oil and gas imports of USD1,591.9 million (11.16 percent) and non-oil and gas USD12,671.5 million (88.84 percent).
Of the total import value from January to September 2019, the main countries of origin are China with USD 32,581.8 million (25.83 percent), followed by Singapore with USD 12,697.6 million (10.07 percent), and Japan with USD 11,850.8 million (9.40 percent). Viewed from the category of economic goods usage, it is still dominated by imports of raw / auxiliary materials at USD93,450.4 million (74.10 percent), followed by capital goods at USD21,013.4 million (16.16 percent), and consumption goods at USD 11,657 2 million (9.24 percent).
According to the 1 digit SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) goods category, the main group of imported goods is the machinery and transportation equipment group with a value of USD41,032.6 million (32.53 percent). During January-September 2019, the port located in DKI Jakarta Province was still a place for loading and unloading of major imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 52.06 percent (USD65,664.1 million).
