Abstract
The
data of seasonal vegetable and fruit
plants which is collected in Agriculture Survey for Horticulture in Seasonal
Vegetable Plants includes 22 types of plant and 4 Seasonal Fruit Plants. In
2018, five seasonal vegetable commodities with the largest production in
sequence were shallot, cabbage, chili (capsicum frutescens), potato, and chili
(capsicum annum). National production of shallots reached 1.5 million tons,
cabbage reached 1.41 million tons, cayenne pepper reached 1.34 million tons,
potatoes reached 1.28 million tons, and large chili reached 1.21 million tons. The
production of shallot, chili (capsicum frutescens), potato, and chili (capsicum
annum), has increased in 2018 compared to 2017.
Indonesia
exported seventeen types
of seasonal vegetable as shallot, garlic,
red bean, cauliflower, potato, cabbage, radish, carrot, spinach, green bean, chili, mushroom, yard long bean, cucumber, chayote,
eggplant, and tomato. Total value of vegetable exports in the year 2018 reached
11.82 million US $. Exports
of shallot in 2018 became the largest contributor of foreign exchange from
seasonal vegetables by amount of 5.22 thousand tons and FOB value of 6.29
million US $.
