Abstract

In January 2019, the value of imports reached USD14,991.4 million, down 2.43 percent (USD373.5 million) compared to the previous month. Similarly, the volume decreased by 5.61 percent to 13,890.7 thousand tons.The import value for January 2019 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD1,656.6 million and non-oil and gas USD13,339.6 millionOf the total import values ​​in January 2019, China was the main country of origin with USD4,168.5 million (27.81 percent), followed by Japan with USD1,371.0 million (9.14 percent), and Singapore with USD1,282.2 million (8.55 percent). Judging from the use of economic goods, imports of raw/auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD11,415.9 million (76.15 percent), followed by capital goods of USD2,355.6 million (15.71 percent), and consumer goods of USD1,219.9 million (8.14 percent). According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 digit, the main imported goods group is machinery and transportation equipment with a value of USD4,756.8 million (31.73 percent). During January 2019 the ports found in the DKI Jakarta Province were still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 53.44 percent (USD 8,011.5 million).
