Report on Pilot Migration Survey II

Surveys conducted specifically by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) with the aim to observe permanent population movements (migration) and to collect migration data in full are still not available. Even though the availability of special data regarding migration data, which contains many characteristics of migrants, is very much needed as input material related to population policy. Therefore, the Migration Survey will later become one of the tools to meet the need for more detailed migration data so that it can be a better input on population policy in Indonesia. The implementation of the Migration Survey is preceded by a Pilot Migration Survey activity which aims to test questionnaires, manuals and field organizations before the actual Migration Survey. The pilot Migration Survey in 2018 was the second trial after the implementation of the first Pilot Migration Survey in 2014. Pilot Migration Survey II of 2018 was conducted in five provinces, namely the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, DKI Jakarta, Bali, Central Kalimantan, and Southeast Sulawesi.
