Business Tendency Index and Consumers Tendency Index 2018

Indonesia's economic growth accelerated during the 2016-2018 period. In 2016 the Indonesian economy began to stretch and continued until 2018. The improvement in the Indonesian economy was in line with the improvement in the world economy. Predictions about the direction of economic growth are needed, both by the government and the business world. The government uses this information for planning and determining future economic policies. While the business world uses it to predict future market share. BPS-Statistics Indonesia uses two indicator approaches in predicting Indonesia's economic conditions going forward. The prompt indicator used is the Business Tendency Index (ITB) and the Consumer Tendency Index (ITK). These two indicators complement each other in providing early information on general economic development. ITB looks at economic conditions from the perspective of entrepreneurs, while ITK sees economic conditions from the consumer side. Economic information generated from these two indicators is the current economic conditions and predictions for the coming quarter. In 2018, the Indonesian economy is faced with a global economic situation that tends to stagnate. This indication can be seen from the estimated world economic growth in 2018 which is relatively the same as the previous year. Meanwhile, several developed countries which were the main trading partners and Indonesia's largest export destination countries experienced a slowdown in economic conditions from the previous year.
